Step 1: Check That You Are Using The Correct Credentials
The very first thing you should do is to attempt to login to LinkedIn directly. Very rarely, LinkedIn will go down and that will affect logging into ClearView Social through LinkedIn. If you can successfully log into LinkedIn from LinkedIn, then you should be able to use the same credentials to log into ClearView Social using LinkedIn.
The above error is shown when incorrect credentials are used to log into ClearView Social through LinkedIn. First, go to app.clearviewsocial.com/logout to close any old connections that might be hanging around your browser. Then, click the Log in using LinkedIn button.
You will be taken to a LinkedIn window and asked to enter your LinkedIn credentials. This is the same username and password that you used to log in at LinkedIn.
If you cannot remember your LinkedIn username and password, you can recover this information from LinkedIn's forgot password site.
Step 2: Check That You Have Connected Your Account
The above error is shown when trying to log into ClearView Social with a LinkedIn account that has not been associated with any ClearView Social user.
Before you can log in with LinkedIn, you must have previously connected your account. If you are a new user, simply follow the login link that has been emailed to your corporate email address. This will let you into the system and you should immediately see a prompt to connect your social media accounts.
If you no longer have your welcome email or your login link has expired, you can go here to request a new link.
Simply click the button for LinkedIn and it will take you through a series of screens that will ask you to input your LinkedIn username and password, and then ask you for permission for ClearView Social to post on your behalf. If you want to later connect other social media accounts, you can do so at any time from the Settings page.
Step 3: Reconnect Your Account
If you still cannot access your account, request a new login link to allow you into the software.
Once in, go to the Settings page and disconnect, then reconnect your LinkedIn account.
You can also connect a Twitter account if you prefer to log in that way. (Facebook login coming soon.) Or, you can create a password login for your account at the bottom of the Settings page.
Troubleshoot Your Connection
If you cannot connect your account through any of the above methods, you will need to email email@example.com to troubleshoot your connection. You will be asked to provide your primary LinkedIn email address, as this is the address that ClearView Social uses to associate your ClearView Social account with LinkedIn.
To find your primary LinkedIn email address, go to https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/email. Your primary LinkedIn email address will be the first email located at the top of the Email Addresses section, as shown below.
