A common point of confusion for users is the difference between what LinkedIn reports as Views versus what ClearView Social reports as Clicks. When viewing your LinkedIn landing page, you'll often see the results of your most recent LinkedIn share at the top of the page.
In the example above, my Share of "Best times for professionals to post to social" was viewed 37 times. In LinkedIn terms, this means that 37 people saw this article while scrolling through their timeline on the LinkedIn home page. For example, while I scroll down my timeline, I come across the following:
I just gave Jacob one view for this Share, but I did not click it, so all I saw was this little blurb, not the full article.
What Counts as a Click?
ClearView Social does not have access to the number of times your Share has been viewed on LinkedIn. Instead, we track the number of times your Share has been clicked.
In the above image, my Share has been clicked 8 times. This means that 8 individuals have seen my Share in their Linked in timeline and then clicked on the article to view the full article. That's 8 people who engaged with the content of my Share, which is preferable to the 37 people who just scrolled past it on their LinkedIn timeline.
