Collections

Send Collections at just the right time. You're probably building your Collections during the workday, and it's understandable you'd like your Users to reap the fruits of your labor as soon as possible—but take your finger off that "Send Immediately" button.

Studies have shown that emails are least effective during the workday, and most LinkedIn browsing occurs between 7-8 am and 5-6 pm. During the workday Users are often busy with their current priority and can disregard the email.

Try sending Collections at the end of the workday, or get that Collection in their inboxes bright and early— before work steals their attention for the day. When sending Collections the Schedule Send feature is going to be your best resource.

Send Collections to groups rather than to "Everyone". Users will disregard Collections with irrelevant content. A successful approach to avoid this is to segment Users into Groups and only send each Collection to the Group(s) it's most relevant to. *Not all subscriptions include Groups! If you and your team would like to add Groups to your subscription, reach out to your Client Success Specialist or support@clearviewsocial.com for details.

Include a custom message to your team. A good message contains a call-to-action as well as some information that helps the user understand why sharing the collection is important. This is also a great place to include any updates, recognize outstanding User performance, and/or share Clearview Social stats.

Keep a consistent subject line. When you use a similar subject line each week your Users know exactly what to look for. With a successful Clearview Social initiative at your company, you might send hundreds of Collections. Make sure to date them so they don't get lost in the fray.

Posts

Collect interesting and relevant content! Gathering shareable content that grabs the audience's attention doesn't just garner clicks, but ensures your team's interest in sharing from the start. No one wants to share dull content or bore their network! If it doesn't catch your eye as an Admin, it most likely won't catch the User's attention or their network's.

Include an image for every post- The Collection email looks much more vibrant with images next to each item. Studies have shown that an image and link combination increases the content's clickability (one study from Vero puts it at 42%). At Clearview Social we've observed a 35% increase in clicks when our when an image and link is combined. If an article you're including doesn't have an associated image, simply mouse over your image to choose one from your Media Library, or upload one from your device. Just make sure it is under 2 MB of space.

Take extra text out of the title- Articles will frequently load into Clearview Social with a "Title" field that can sometimes include unnecessary information. This can be overwhelming, or even irrelevant, leading the viewer to scroll on. Simply click the title (circled below) and begin typing to edit; when you leave the box your changes will be saved.

Include an engaging concise description. It's important to note that LinkedIn's API does not currently support a description at this time. If your Users are only sharing to LinkedIn, you can disregard this section altogether. The Description field is sometimes empty and other times it contains the first paragraph of text from the article. It is recommended to condense your description to one or two sentences. In the image below you can see the description is far too long and overwhelming to the viewer. Successful approaches can include:

  • Writing a brief summary of the link's content.

  • Posing an open question, implying that the answer can be found at the link.

  • Mentioning the author or source, invoking their insight and authority.

Write a caption that offers unique insight. Don't be a social media user who just blasts links out everyday without adding value! Social media activity is more sincere and engages more discussion when you or your Users add a unique take on the content.

Don't know what to say? Ask AI for help! Our AI bot can write a single caption, or multiple for Caption Shuffle to be randomly dispersed to your Users. It can even customize your captions to meet the requirements of each of the available networks.

Offering praise to a colleague for their accomplishments mentioned in the post, offering your opinion of the content, or presenting a call to action are all great strategies to draw in the reader. Don't forget to tag your Users, include hashtags, and sprinkle in an emoji or two to further call attention to your posts.
